Welcome Letter

Dear colleagues and friends,

It is with great pleasure that we invite you to participate in the CannX São Paulo 2020 in CannX Brazil – 2nd International Congress of Cannabinoid Medicine, to be held from 7 to 8 May 2020, at the Renaissance São Paulo Hotel, in São Paulo, Brazil.

This second edition will continue the great success of the inaugural edition of CannX São Paulo in 2018, which was the first event of this magnitude and scope in Latin America, counting with the participation of more than 50 speakers.

Thus, specialists and guests from various areas, such as Israel, Brazil, United States, Uruguay, Mexico and Colombia, were able to share with us a wide range of information – ranging from cutting-edge innovations in technology, elementary research and clinical practice to impressive testimonials from patients who have benefited from the therapeutic use of cannabis and its derivatives.

In 2020, the partnership between the University of Brasília and Cann10, always inspired by the productive history of collaborations between Israelis and Brazilians in this field, will once again bring to Brazil some of the most brilliant examples of knowledge nurtured by the old, yet always revolutionary, Cannabinoid Medicine.

For this 2nd International Congress in São Paulo, we will promote deeper discussions on a limited set of topics that trend the current national and international medical and scientific scenario, providing more time for sharing information and for open discussions with the public.

It is never enough to underline that scientific research is a central process to understand the limits that separate the benign and judicious use of cannabinoids from their harmful abuse. Just as we should celebrate the successful cases, we should also study, discuss and better understand the side effects, identify risk groups, discern what pharmacological variations and dosages may actually be beneficial and which are not.

We believe that the most valuable asset of the human species is the freedom to create, discover, and share information. Especially because, along with generosity, science has been the most important way to overcome the great human challenges and the diffusion of access to well-being. One set of invaluable evidence for this statement is the positive impact that scientific advances on Cannabinoid Medicine have brought to people’s lives. On the other hand, a very objective and convincing measure of the historical magnitude of this medical revolution is the importance it has acquired in the economic setting of the more advanced countries.

In this way, it would be a great honor for us to count on you as a partner, collaborating with us to help spread the qualified knowledge that should bring, as soon as possible, a future of health and prosperity for Brazil and Latin America.

President of CannX São Paulo 2020, 2nd International Congress of Cannabinoid Medicine
